In this presentation, I will give an overview of how we collect sediment cores from a research vessel in wintertime high-Arctic Svalbard, and why. The resulting data will contribute to enhanced knowledge on past and ongoing environmental change in southern Svalbard as reflected in the sediments.
Presenter: Dr. Marthe Gjerde works as a Post-doctoral researcher at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). She is a Quaternary geologist focusing on glacially fed sediments in terrestrial and marine environments.
