Field works on Svalbard

In the second half of June, three scientists from RAW project team – Meri Korhonen, M.Sc., Oskar Głowacki, Ph.D., and Mateusz Moskalik, Prof. – set off for measurement work on Spitsbergen.

One of the first scientific activities was to start measuring sedimentation processes in the Hornsund fjord in the southern part of the island in the vincinity of Polish Polar Station Hornsund. These works, conducted from the yacht Join Us, was carried out in parallel with sampling for analysis of contaminants in the fjords as part of the RE-LOAD project.
